Two other tax courts were arrested in the investigation that has already led Milan in recent weeks prison tax courts Luigi Vassallo and Marina Seregni. There would be an alleged bribe of 60 thousand euro to the Milan investigation center that led to the arrest of two other tax courts, the accountant and the lawyer Luigi Pellini Gianfranco Vignoli Rinaldi, together with the entrepreneur Matteo Invernizzi. The bribe would be divided into € 500 notes and hidden inside Christmas packages. According to surveys, the bribes were to Judges ‘complacent’, which, in return, would cancel the tax assessments of millions of euro value.

The investigation by Milan prosecutors into alleged judgments piloted in Milan tax commissions in exchange for bribes had brought, on 28 January, the arrest of the tax court Seregni Marina and a new borne order of the links Luigi Vassallo, jailed last December. It had already found that the Milan investigation was set to expand with respect to the two cases of alleged bribes collected by promising to fix two tax proceedings. “The abundant available evidence support the conclusion that there is some further offenses episodes put in place by the suspects, as well as the involvement of other parties,” it said already in the order for custody in January. Among the evidence collected by the investigators of the Guardia di Finanza, in fact, there were also the characters and company names found on the envelopes containing the cash found in two safe deposit boxes registered to Vassallo, for a total of approximately 267 thousand euro.

A Vassallo and Seregni performed in the order last January was contested an affair with a central tax proceedings on the phone company Swe-co and charges of alleged corruption in judicial acts. Vassallo, however, in December 2015, had been caught in the act while pocketing a bribe of five thousand euro by two lawyers of Dow Europe, another company over in this investigation, with the promise of being able to “facilitate” the company in reaching a favorable ruling.
