PISA – It arrived just before 16:20 of the decision of the Gup Giuseppe Laghezza court on the case of Pisa Roberta Ragusa, disappeared from his home in San Giuliano Terme in the night between 13 and 14 January 2012: the judge decided to not to prosecute “for not having committed the crime” against Antonio Logli , the woman’s husband. The man, who had arrived in the morning in the classroom, he left the court in Pisa escorted by his lawyers coming out from the main entrance and facing wordlessly dozens of cameras and reporters, then walk reached the car with which had arrived and that was parked at the back of the courthouse. Throughout the walk, lasting several minutes, Logli continued to walk tall staring cameras but without uttering any word even if pressed by journalists. Only his defender, Roberto Cavani, he limited himself to sa y, “No thank you, no comment.”
The day
Logli had arrived accompanied by an acquaintance, sat in the back, smiling, surrounded by cameras, and entered by a side entrance of the court of Pisa the preliminary hearing in the process that sees him charged with murder and destruction of the corpse. Cockles in these three years he never spoke nor agreed to be interviewed during the preliminary investigation. That against him is a process circumstantial: low fertility overwhelming evidence confirming the charge, while there are many witnesses who told on several occasions and with different versions of the night of the death of Roberta Ragusa.
The prosecutor
“We respect this pronouncement even if we criticize him, but now you must wait for the written judgment, expected between 30 or 60 days, to evaluate whether appellarlo point of law. ” So the attorney acting for Pisa Antonio Giaconi reporters after the acquittal of Antonio Logli. The magistrate, however, reiterated that “the investigations do not stop and that until a final judgment will come Logli remains charged and still continue to look for both the body of Roberta Ragusa and new elements, including protective witnesses.” “In the interpretation of the device and waiting to read the motivation is possible that the court has held that, in the absence of the body, Roberta Ragusa is not dead. We, however, believe that she was killed, and why we will continue to investigate. ” The pronouncement, stressed Giaconi, “is frankly unexpected, but would not call it a blow to the prosecution: if anything, it is a decision, undoubtedly taken into consciousness, very brave for a story so complex that it deserved a deepening of the case.”
The prosecutor: “A liar ‘
The prosecutor is convinced of the guilt of Logli, to the point that before the hearing Logli called” a liar. ” “Logli carried on for many years an affair with a mistress who was a person of his wife intimate and this demonstrates its ability to simulate and tell lies,” said the prosecutor, wanting to highlight the psychological climate of the story. There would also be an economic motive according to investigators, for which Logli would kill his wife to avoid a costly divorce. “The accused – said Giaconi – has taken away a person uncomfortable when he realized that a separation would make him lose everything: the marital home, the money, the children and maybe even work. It is in this context that the murder has matured and this is what I explained to the preliminary hearing judge. ”
The children were not plaintiffs
Outside the court of Pisa a large group of cameras and journalists, for what is a case in which it was given national importance due to the constant presence of the media. The two sons of Logli and Ragusa, a boy aged 18 and a girl of 14, were not plaintiffs.
