Interior Minister Angelino Alfano has announced that in June there will be the election day in which merge the local elections and the referendum accepted by the Advisory Body on offshore drilling. Alfano, responding to a question in the House of Sel, which justified the request with a saving of 300 million euro, said that for the unification there would be technical problems (in the referendum there are three scrutineers for polling at four administrative ) and economic, because the allocation of costs is not homogeneous for the referendum and local elections.
Sel: “Berlusconi did not want to merge. And lost “
Congressman Arturo Scotto (Sel) has pleaded not satisfied and reminded the Minister that in 2011 Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi refused to merge the referendum on the water and administrative, “Berlusconi lost the elections and also referendums, maybe i’ll should remember Mr. Minister.”
“it would be a saving of about 300 million”
given that January 19, the constitutional Court gave the green light to one of the referendum against drilling , the deputy Serena Pellegrino (Sel) has called for the unification of the referendum with the first round of local elections (you vote in Turin, Rome, Milan, Naples), scheduled for June 6. “Whether for economic reasons: in times of spending review, given that dual costs, in the case of consultations at different times …. And the savings would be around 300 million Euros.” And “to promote more bored turnout compared to the referendum vote, one of the most important instruments of direct democracy.”
