Referendum, the former president, Napolitano sided with Renzi: “I will vote” yes ” – the Adige – independent Newspaper of the region of Trentino-Alto Adige

“I give You my message: in the serene conscience and consistent with my positions I’m going to vote yes” in the referendum: the emeritus president, Giorgio Napolitano, made his declaration to vote in the tv host of the transmission of Bruno Vespa, door to Door.

An endorsement expected to Napolitano that it is very spent in these years in favour of a constitutional reform. “I am convinced of the necessity of this reform for over thirty years, he emphasized that the problem there was no solution in the face of need ever more pressing”. But the political climate was heated and then, with the kit of poisons cross and without exclusion of blows and really didn’t like Napolitano, who on this occasion has asked for a stop.

the One on the referendum – denounced – “it has become a challenge aberrant”.

in the front line, the confrontation on the Senate. But for Napolitano, the main goal is not to cut the number of parliamentarians”, but rather “to have a Senate that represents the territories and that it is more lean”.
For the former president, if it preserves the first part of the Paper, not just as applies to “the organization of the life of the Republic” where there are “weaknesses, especially in the balance of constitutional powers, where he was left in a place less to the government compared to the Parliament and the Constitution, and then created the mess of bicameralism equal. The weaknesses recognized by the same constituents”.

This reform – he pointed – “will allow the Country to make steps forward,” and “can restore the power and clarity of function to the Parliament. Starting from the question of the decrees of the law”.

The president emeritus has the fact that the referendum vote is not pro or against the government: “do not vote neither for this government or against, but on what is written in the law: limit the dl, not to do with lightness fiducie and maxiemendamenti in the spirit in which the power of the Parliament is strengthened and, with it, democracy. You vote on that, not on the motivations of Renzi”.

In the opinion of Napolitano does not have to exclude impact of financial “risks of a financial crisis are always there and at this stage can also increase for a result of international events that we know of. We would not like to see the spread that grows. We have to be very careful, however, to go to the referendum”.

The endorsement of Napolitano on the reforms is not liked at all to the Tissue of the red di Pasquale Laurito.
“The history of the Italian Republic – has written – has never recorded a fact, as severe as the one that sees a former president of the Republic to go to a television broadcast in defense of the current president of the council engaged in the campaign on the referendum”.

Critical also the parent company of the deputies of the Italian Left, Arturo Scotto: “The former president Napolitano evokes the risk of the growth of spreads is linked to the outcome of the referendum. It seems to participate in the game of the goose”.
“The spread continues, the parent company of the left – has nothing to do with the reform of the Constitution, with the fact that it should be changed to oppose no”. “I would not like the neocostituenti become in the last few days in the entrepreneurs of fear to influence the vote of the citizens. Not caschiamoci – ends Reckoning – another time.”

And Elvira Savino, member of Forza Italia, comments: “If, as the senator says lifetime Napolitano, to judge Renzi there are elections in 2018 and not the referendum, why then are we to judge the president Berlusconi in 2011, it took the hoax of the spread and are not expected, instead of arriving at the natural end of the legislature? If you do not comply with the article 1 of the Constitution, that the sovereignty belongs to the people, and the people had elected Berlusconi government of Italy, then it is useless to any further comment of Napolitano on additional items”.
