ROME, April 9 (Reuters) – The government confirms the confidence the president of Finmeccanica Gianni De Gennaro, after the controversy following the sentencing of the beatings of police against G8 protesters in Genoa by the Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg and the allegations against De Gennaro by the president of the Democratic Party Matthew Orfini.
He said today Prime Minister Matteo Renzi during a press conference.
“The government reiterates its confidence in De Gennaro,” Renzi said, recalling that “it has been confirmed by our government after his acquittal” to the facts of the G8, which at the time of the current president of Finmeccanica was chief of police.
“The government has no doubt about the quality and competence of President De Gennaro, and we say this very clearly,” said Renzi.
