After a long night marathon and the abandonment of the House by the opposition, the assembly of the Chamber concluded the consideration of amendments to the bill on the reforms. The final go-ahead to the text by the House (the second of the four steps required) is expected within the first days of March. Prime Minister Matteo Renzi was in the House.
Renzi: a hug to owls and green mice
The last four articles (38-41) have been approved during the night: the final green light was greeted with applause by the deputies of the Democratic Party, which rose to their feet. While Renzi wrote on twitter: “Thanks to the tenacity of the deputies completed the votes on the second reading of the constitutional reform. Hugs to owls and green mice. “
For declaration of war just absolute majority
Among the amendments approved in the night, one (Article 17 of the Bill), presented by the Democratic Party and the identical M5S provides that the House of Representatives resolution state of war with an absolute majority. The government and the rapporteur had given a positive opinion on the proposed modification. The choice, said the mi nister Maria Elena Boschi, “can be a balance between the various points of view.”
