The Director of the Vatican Museums, Antonio Paolucci, is investigated in Florence on charges of abuse office. Paolucci joined the investigation as a former superintendent of the State Museums of Florence. Also investigated the current superintendent, Cristina Acidini, in addition to an official of the Superintendent of Florence, Marco Fossi, and an insurer.

At the center of the investigation by the prosecution to Florence there would be an agreement in the fall of 2006 between the supervision pole Florentine museum and the Axa insurance-art. The convenziona – signed by Paolucci shortly before he left Florence for Rome – as the insurance of the works of art of the museum complex in Florence during transport abroad, when they are loaned for exhibitions. According to the indictment, the superintendent would have chosen the insurance company with direct assignment, and not through the race, as required by European standards for policies in excess of 50 thousand euro.
