A big operation “anti-mafia” was carried out at dawn by the police of Brindisi: 58 people were arrested in the provinces of Brindisi and Lecce in the execution of an order of remand issued by the District Directorate anti-Mafia division of Lecce.
The charges relate to crimes of association, mafia, complicity in murder, drug trafficking, port and illegal detention of a firearm and drug-trafficking. As learned the group allegedly affiliated to the organization of the mafia, Sacra Corona Unita was operating in the South of Brindisi.
The murder of Antonio Presta
Among the incidents the subject of investigation, but also the murder of Antonio Presta, the son of Gianfranco, a former collaborator of justice, killed in San Donaci on September 5, 2012.
